Haha, it took me a few years to force myself to pitch — I hate it. I came out of my pitch this year, looked at one of the campmakers outside the room and just went “arrrggh, I hate pitching”. But now I’ve been through it a few times, I know a) running a session is actually OK to do, although it helps to have some structure/questions/aims thought through in advance to guide it, b) I always get something useful out of running a session, even if it makes me think about something and write it up, c) running a really small session is fine too — doesn’t have to be big and popular.

There are so many experienced people at ukgovcamp that it’s important to remember to focus on the people who aren’t talking much — they’re feeling just the same way, usually, but everyone is there to add and listen, just in different mixes.
